Immersing the stage and the public in constant darkness, Seuil Optique creates soundscapes where electronic transmissions, acousmatic landscapes and refined drones intersect. By jostling the boundaries between listening, blind manipulation of machines and immersive experience offered to the audience, the two musicians explore new sound tracks, in permanent dialogue with hybrid musicalities and the practice of singular instruments: persephone, field recording, electro-acoustic devices, matrices and samples.
On stage, they use deliberately “open” improvisation strategies and defeat the boundaries between manipulating machines in the dark, harmonics tinged with noise-producing materials and the “eyes closed” hearing experience offered to the public.

Seuil Optique’s third album, Les Habitants, focuses on the practice of electronic improvisation. Recorded in three days and three nights, in Paris, in total darkness, Les Habitants aims to be a place of recognition of gesture as a creative act. No preparation beforehand, no benchmark, no intro or climax, only the interaction between two ways of producing spectral imprints. In this sound dialogue, electronics are the vector of total sincerity: the inhabitants target the listener, bringing them to live the experience of the moment that guides the “non-idiomatic” music of Seuil Optique, in which each sound, each transmitted waveform is dedicated to the inhabitants of the present.

Le troisième album de Seuil Optique, Les Habitants, est centré sur la pratique de l'improvisation électronique. Enregistré durant trois jours et trois nuits, à Paris, dans l'obscurité totale, Les Habitants se veut le lieu d'une recognition du geste comme acte créateur. Aucune préparation en amont, aucun repère, pas d'intro ou de climax, seulement l'interaction entre deux manières de produire des empreintes spectrales. Dans ce dialogue sonore, l'électronique est le vecteur d'une sincérité totale : les Habitants prend pour cible l'auditeur, en l'amenant à vivre l'expérience de l'instant qui guide la musique "non-idiomatique" de Seuil Optique, en laquelle chaque son, chaque forme d'onde transmise est dédiée aux habitants du présent.

Plongeant scène et public dans une obscurité constante, Seuil Optique élabore des tableaux sonores où s'entrecroisent transmissions électroniques, paysages acousmatiques et drones épurés. En bousculant les frontières entre l’écoute, la manipulation aveugle des machines et l'expérience immersive proposée au public, les deux musiciens explorent de nouvelles pistes sonores, en dialogue permanent avec les musicalités hybrides et la pratique d'instruments singuliers : perséphone, field recording, dispositifs electro-acoustiques, matrices et samples dépouillés.
Sur scène, ils utilisent des stratégies d'improvisation volontairement "ouvertes" et déjouent les frontières entre la manipulation des machines dans le noir, les harmoniques teintées de matériaux bruitistes et l’expérience auditive « les yeux fermés » proposée au public.
